The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the federal government to issue a strict 90-day deadline to the nation's security chiefs to eradicate terrorism across Nigeria or step down from their positions.

In a video message broadcast on social media, the prominent cleric expressed deep concern regarding the country's worsening security climate and emphasized the need for immediate government intervention against perpetrators of violence. He argued that the leadership of the security forces must be held strictly accountable for measurable progress in counter-terrorism operations.

In addition to targeting active militants, Adeboye emphasized that the administration's strategy must confront the financial and logistical networks backing these groups. He urged authorities to identify and neutralize the sponsors of terrorism, regardless of their societal influence or political stature.

Reflecting on past administrations, the cleric noted that he had previously suggested a similar ultimatum to a former Nigerian president. While that directive was ultimately issued, he observed that it lacked the necessary enforcement once the timeline expired. According to Adeboye, this precedent highlights the critical need for sustained political will and rigorous oversight to ensure security directives are successfully executed.

The call for decisive action arrives during a period of heightened public anxiety over persistent terrorist attacks, banditry, and kidnappings throughout various regions of Nigeria, intensifying pressure on the government to implement more robust national security measures.
