Nigerian British entrepreneur and social media personality Igho Ubiribo has passed away at the age of forty-three following a medical emergency triggered by a cosmetic procedure in Bangkok, Thailand.

While vacationing in Thailand with his spouse, Danielle Simba Allen, Ubiribo underwent a non-surgical enhancement procedure. The treatment involved injecting forty milliliters of hyaluronic acid combined with lidocaine into the body. Shortly after leaving the clinic, the couple visited a hotel spa for a massage. During the session, Ubiribo experienced acute chest discomfort and lost consciousness on multiple occasions.

Emergency responders transported him to Sukhumvit Hospital, where medical personnel suspected a pulmonary embolism—a dangerous obstruction in the lung's blood vessels. Although initially responsive upon arrival, his condition deteriorated rapidly before diagnostic scans could be performed. He was moved to the intensive care unit, where physicians administered resuscitation efforts for over an hour and a half, but he ultimately passed away.

Subsequent investigations by a UK coroner, supported by postmortem examinations conducted in both Thailand and London, confirmed the cause of death. Pathologists discovered cellular matter matching the injected hyaluronic acid inside Ubiribo’s lungs, verifying that filler material had entered the bloodstream and caused a fatal blockage. Medical records indicated he had pre-existing minor health considerations, including pre-diabetes and gout, but no severe chronic illnesses prior to the procedure.

Ubiribo was widely recognized online for sharing his affluent lifestyle with nearly two hundred thousand followers, maintaining properties in both Los Angeles and London. His lavish wedding in Zimbabwe and subsequent funeral in London drew notable figures, including Nigerian music artist Davido, who paid tribute to his lively personality and enduring presence.

This tragic event has highlighted the severe health risks and potential complications associated with injectable cosmetic fillers, prompting renewed warnings from medical professionals regarding unregulated or high-risk procedures.
