Footage of the strike, which shows significant secondary explosions and plumes of thick black smoke, was shared by President Donald Trump on social media. Satellite data from NASA’s fire-tracking systems indicates the impact occurred near Mount Soffeh, an area long suspected of housing sensitive military assets.

Strategic Shift and Nuclear Proximity

The targeting of Isfahan is notable due to the city’s role as a primary hub for Iran’s nuclear program. An anonymous official noted that the U.S. military has "burned through" a significant portion of its bunker-buster inventory during this campaign. This follows previous engagements in the region during the "12 Day War" last summer.

The strikes come amid a stark ultimatum from the White House. On Monday, President Trump threatened the "complete obliteration" of Iran’s vital infrastructure—including oil wells, electric plants, and desalinization facilities—should Tehran fail to reach a diplomatic resolution and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

"If the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately ‘Open for Business,’ we will conclude our 'stay' in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells, and Kharg Island," the President stated.
