Peter Obi, presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has invited Nigerians and the international community to thoroughly examine his personal history and records for any past misconduct.

Speaking at the "Obi Talks Nigeria" town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, he emphasized that both he and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, have fully transparent backgrounds available for verification worldwide, covering their educational histories and birth records ahead of the 2027 general election.

Addressing ongoing political scrutiny regarding candidates vying for the nation's highest office, Obi referenced his recent legal action against his former 2023 campaign spokesperson, Kenneth Okonkwo. The lawsuit stems from unverified claims regarding past dealings, with Obi maintaining that he welcomes public exposure of any genuine wrongdoing. He asserted that aspiring leaders must emerge through transparent, credible processes rather than flawed systems.
