During a recent campaign event in Jos, Plateau State, organized by the Middle Belt Youth Council for the Obi/Kwankwaso campaign team, Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso delivered a sharp critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Kwankwaso asserted that any governing body failing to protect its citizens and fulfill their basic needs lacks responsibility and forfeits its right to remain in power.

He drew strong attention to the ongoing security crisis, noting that frequent attacks by bandits, Boko Haram, and tribal conflicts continue to claim dozens of lives at a time. Emphasizing that every individual's life is valuable regardless of ethnic background, religious beliefs, or geographic region, he reminded the public that protecting lives and property remains a fundamental constitutional obligation that current leaders are failing to uphold.

Industrial Collapse and Unemployment

Beyond security issues, Kwankwaso addressed the severe economic challenges facing the country, particularly the widespread disappearance of factories and manufacturing industries. He pointed out that economic hubs, including Plateau State, have suffered from massive deindustrialization, with former employment-generating facilities vanishing while current authorities neglect to address the crisis.

Call to Action for Voters

Concluding his address, Kwankwaso encouraged the residents of Plateau State to rally behind the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and other candidates running on the NDC platform. He urged the electorate to remain resilient, stand up for their rights, and actively safeguard their votes during the upcoming elections, expressing strong confidence in their ability to replicate past political efforts.
