The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially announced a further extension of the deadline for the purchase and submission of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the 2026 general elections.

In a statement released to party members and the general public, the PDP leadership confirmed that the deadline for the purchase of forms, originally set to expire on May 7, 2026, has been moved to Monday, May 11, 2026.

Updated Electoral Timetable

To accommodate the revised sales window, the party has adjusted its subsequent administrative and screening schedule:

Submission of Completed Forms: The final date for the return of all documentation is now May 12, 2026.

Legislative Screening: Screening for State House of Assembly and National Assembly aspirants will take place on May 13, 2026.

Executive Screening: Screening for Governorship and Presidential aspirants is scheduled for May 14, 2026.

Appeals: All appeals arising from the screening exercises will be heard on May 15, 2026.

Vital Notice on E-Registration

The party emphasized that while the physical form deadlines have been extended, the E-registration window remains unchanged. The portal is set to close at 12:00 midnight today, May 7, 2026.

The PDP National Secretariat advises all interested aspirants to utilize this final extension to complete their applications, noting that no further delays to the primary election roadmap are anticipated. All stakeholders are urged to be guided by these new dates to ensure a seamless transition to the party primaries.
