The ongoing civil conflict in Yemen has intensified significantly, drawing global attention due to its impact on international shipping corridors and regional stability. Pro government forces, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, are engaged in fierce battles against Houthi rebels who control major population centers and strategic maritime choke points like the Bab al-Mandab strait.

The renewed fighting has resulted in severe humanitarian consequences. Over 200,000 civilians have been displaced since an escalation in September, fleeing remote mountainous areas to seek shelter in harsh conditions without adequate food, water, or supplies.

Meanwhile, hospitals in cities like Aden are overwhelmed with casualties from the front lines, treating wounded combatants from opposing sides alongside civilians caught in the crossfire, including children injured by explosive devices and drone strikes. With regional tensions escalating highlighted by cross-border attacks impacting neighboring countries the prospects for an immediate resolution remain complex, leaving exhausted populations and medical workers calling for lasting peace.
