BRIGHTON, UK: A father has spoken of his "unbearable grief" following the tragic deaths of his three daughters, who died after entering the sea off Brighton beach last week.

Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, all from the Uxbridge area of West London, lost their lives in what authorities have described as a "terrible tragedy" on Wednesday, 13 May.

The Incident and Ongoing Investigation

Emergency services were alerted at approximately 05:45 BST following reports of a person in the water near the Black Rock car park on Madeira Drive. Coastguard and emergency personnel subsequently recovered the bodies of the three sisters, alongside two other individuals found nearby.

Sussex Police have launched a comprehensive investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that the women may have entered the water from the beach and encountered severe difficulties. Investigators believe the sisters were initially near Brighton Palace Pier before drifting eastward toward Brighton Marina.

Chief Superintendent Adam Hays confirmed that detectives are reviewing hundreds of hours of CCTV footage and conducting extensive local inquiries to trace the women's final movements.

"There is no evidence to suggest third-party involvement or criminality," Chief Superintendent Hays stated. "But specialist detectives are working hard to gather the full facts and circumstances of their deaths. We will leave no stone unturned."

A Father's Tribute

In a statement released through the police, the grieving father, Joseph, paid an emotional tribute to his daughters, describing them as his joy, strength, and the "beautiful light" of their family.

"No words can truly describe the pain of losing three daughters in the prime of their lives," he said. "Each of you was unique and precious in your own special way. Your smiles brightened dark days, your laughter brought comfort, and your presence made life more meaningful."

He added that while the grief often feels unbearable, the family is holding tightly to their shared memories, noting that the tragedy has "left an emptiness that words cannot heal."
