Iran’s chief negotiator has issued a stark warning to the United States following a series of escalatory threats from President Donald Trump regarding the targeting of Iranian resources and infrastructure.

The diplomatic standoff intensified after President Trump indicated that the United States was prepared to launch immediate military strikes against Iranian targets. He further asserted intentions to gain complete control over Iran's oil and gas sectors in the near future, specifically mentioning potential plans to seize Kharg Island, a critical maritime oil terminal off the Iranian coast. However, the U.S. executive later questioned whether there was sufficient political will domestically to execute such an operation.

In response, Iranian official Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf cautioned that reckless tactical maneuvers and impulsive decision-making by Washington would severely destabilize regional security and worsen geopolitical conditions for all parties involved. The top negotiator characterized the potential conflict as a prolonged, inescapable crisis for American forces.

The escalation follows verified reports from New Delhi confirming that a recent U.S. military strike on a vessel named the Settebello near Oman resulted in the deaths of three Indian sailors. Furthermore, United States military officials have confirmed conducting separate maritime strikes against two additional vessels, the Jalveer and the Marivex, over the past several days, significantly heightening tensions in crucial shipping lanes.
