The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has dealt a significant blow to organized drug trafficking following a high-stakes raid on a "stash house" in the Lekki area of Lagos. The operation, conducted on Friday, May 8, resulted in the seizure of illicit substances valued at over N5.8 billion.
Major Seizure in Lekki Phase 1
Operatives of the NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit stormed a mansion located at 36 African Lane, Lekki Phase 1, uncovering a massive consignment of "Loud," a high-potency imported strain of cannabis.
The recovery included:

4,000 parcels of cannabis weighing 2,326 kilograms.

Two Mercedes-Benz buses used for logistics.

Assorted designer packaging materials intended for retail distribution.
Crackdown on Local Production and Distribution
In a separate engagement on Wednesday, May 6, agency officials raided a makeshift factory in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos. Two suspects, Bose Jamiu and Gbenga Gege, were apprehended while allegedly processing "skuchies"—a potent cocktail of cannabis and other controlled substances.
Items recovered at the scene:

270 liters of liquid skuchies.

106 grams of Tramadol (225mg).
Nationwide Interdictions and Notable Arrests
NDLEA Spokesman Femi Babafemi confirmed that several other arrests were made across the country throughout the week, including three Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) allegedly involved in trafficking syndicates.

Parallel to enforcement actions, the NDLEA intensified its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. Educational and community sensitization lectures were held across several states, including:

Leadership Commendation
The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), lauded the efforts of the Special Operations Unit and the various state commands. He emphasized the importance of balancing aggressive supply reduction with proactive community enlightenment, urging officers to remain relentless in their mandate to rid the country of illicit substances.
