The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its counter-terrorism campaign following successful airstrikes that dismantled a terrorist stronghold and eliminated multiple insurgents in Borno State.

The operation, executed on July 10 by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeted the Yaganari community within the Gezuwa region. The mission was launched after credible intelligence reports indicated a resurgence of terrorist movements and activities in the area.

According to a statement released on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, preliminary intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions confirmed the existence of active enemy structures and logistics facilities. These findings prompted a series of precision air strikes that effectively neutralized the targets and destroyed the infrastructure.

The NAF emphasized that the operation has severely restricted the terrorists' operational mobility and disrupted their capacity to regroup, marking a significant advancement in the ongoing regional security efforts.

Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, praised the operational personnel for their professionalism. He reaffirmed the military's strategic commitment to deploying decisive air power alongside ground forces to dismantle terrorist networks nationwide, ensuring that insurgent factions are denied safe havens and the opportunity to rebuild their capabilities.
