A car was driven into a crowd at a Pride event near the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, resulting in one fatality and 16 injuries. 

The incident occurred near Tiergarten park shortly before 22:00 local time. Authorities have secured a white vehicle believed to have been used in the attack within a police cordon.

An intensive manhunt is currently underway in the German capital. Police have released a photograph of the identified suspect and are actively appealing to the public for information to assist in locating him.

National and local leaders have condemned the event. The German Chancellor described the occurrence as a horrific act and pledged a full investigation, while the Mayor of Berlin characterized the incident as an assault on open and free society.
