IGP Olatunji Disu Mandates Nationwide Audit of Police Nominal Roll and Account Details

ABUJA — The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has issued an urgent directive mandating all police formations and departments across Nigeria to submit comprehensive nominal rolls and bank account details for all personnel.

The order, communicated via an official police signal (CB: 4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.124/4) dated March 30, 2026, was dispatched from the IGP Secretariat in Abuja. Marked “M/IMMEDIATE,” the directive applies to all Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs), State Commissioners of Police, and heads of specialized units nationwide.

Scope of the Directive

The mandate requires a detailed census of all officers, including:

  • Commissioned Officers

  • Inspectors

  • Rank-and-File Personnel

In addition to personnel data, the IGP has specifically requested the bank account details of every individual currently serving under these commands.

Submission Requirements

To ensure administrative efficiency and data accuracy, the IGP’s office has outlined strict submission protocols:

  • Format: Information must be provided in both hard copy and soft copy.

  • Digital Standards: Soft copies are required in an editable Microsoft Excel format to facilitate data processing.

  • Channel: Digital files must be transmitted via the official police email system.

Strict Compliance and Urgency

The signal emphasized that the request is of "utmost urgency" and must be prioritized by all department heads. The IGP further warned that compliance is expected immediately, noting that no further reminders will be issued to defaulting commands.

The directive has been circulated to a wide array of specialized and tactical formations, including:

  • Training Institutions: Police colleges and academies.

  • Specialized Units: Border Patrol, Maritime Police, and Counter-Terrorism units.

  • Tactical & International: Interpol, the Police Airwing, and Mobile Police (MOPOL) formations.

This move is widely seen as a significant step toward enhancing transparency and streamlining the payroll and administrative records within the Nigeria Police Force.
