Ogun Police Arrest Father for Alleged Years of Sexual Abuse and Forced Abortions
IFO, OGUN STATE – Officers of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a man, identified as Oluwadamilare Ewedemi, following allegations that he repeatedly sexually assaulted his biological daughter over a seven-year period.
The 21-year-old survivor reported the abuse to the Ifo Division on March 26, 2026, after successfully escaping her father’s residence. According to her statement, the abuse began in 2019 after she was brought from a motherless home in Lagos to live under her father’s care in Ijebu Ode.

The victim, who lost her mother as an infant, alleged that her father exploited his role as her guardian to subject her to continuous sexual exploitation. The harrowing account includes:

The Escape and Arrest
The survivor reportedly fled her father’s home on February 1, 2026, seeking refuge in a church located at Pakoto Mountain. After finding safety, she gathered the courage to report the "callous acts" to the authorities.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest on Monday. He credited the swift intervention of the Ifo Division, led by CSP Kamorudeen, for the successful apprehension of the suspect following a tip-off.
Ongoing Investigation
"The suspect is currently in police custody," DSP Babaseyi stated. "Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and the case has been transferred to the Gender Desk for thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution."
