The Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community, located along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan. The enforcement action follows allegations that the structure served as a hideout for suspected kidnappers involved in the recent abduction of the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her children.

Enforcement and Security Measures

Officials from the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation executed the demolition on Monday. The operation was conducted under the protection of operatives from the Nigeria Police Force. State authorities indicated that the exercise aligns with ongoing strategic initiatives aimed at curbing kidnapping and dismantling criminal networks within the region.

Background on the Incident

The incident involves Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were reportedly abducted on June 3, 2026, in the Elewura area of Challenge, Ibadan. The victims have since been rescued by security operatives.

Government Position

State officials stated that the demolition serves as a decisive deterrent to criminal elements and underscores the administration's commitment to enhancing public safety. The government has reaffirmed its policy that any property found to be connected to criminal activities will face similar enforcement actions as part of broader efforts to secure residents across Oyo State.
