The recent passing of Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba has drawn renewed public attention following statements from her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, who has disputed popular claims regarding the cause of her death. Contrary to widespread speculation that the forty-year-old actress succumbed to complications from breast cancer, Onadeko asserted that she passed away at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.

In a recent media interview, the cleric recounted that he was alerted to the tragedy through an anonymous late-night phone call. Although uncertain of the exact police facility involved, he confirmed that he reported to a local station upon receiving the news. He noted that the actress had recently departed his congregation and intended to visit Mrs. Kehinde Osoba, accompanied by her hairdresser, prior to her death.

Addressing various social media rumors, Onadeko firmly rejected allegations that he mismanaged funds raised for the actress's prior medical treatments or utilized donation money for church construction. He clarified that financial contributions were directed exclusively to the late actress's personal accounts and emphasized that the church property had been established decades earlier. Furthermore, he dismissed allegations of domestic abuse, forced confinement, or poisoning, stating that they shared a supportive relationship and resided in a home belonging to the actress's uncle.

While acknowledging that Osoba had previously undergone surgery for breast cancer and struggled with a smoking habit, Onadeko maintained that neither issue caused her death. He added that he subsequently attempted to contact one of her maternal uncles, Taiwo, following the incident, though the family member refused communication.

The late actress is scheduled to be laid to rest on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State. As of the time of reporting, the official cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the police station incident remain unverified by authorities.
